Avalanche rookie forward Mikko Rantanen had himself quite a month of November. He led the team in scoring and was third in scoring for all NHL rookies during the month. With that, he has earned the honor of 303.hockey’s Av of the Month for the month of November 2016.
Rantanen scored three goals and seven assists for 10 points in 14 games played, which includes nine points in his last nine games. He started off his hot streak by scoring his first career goal on November 11th against the Winnipeg Jets.
It sure is nice to see the Avs’ top prospect playing this well, especially when Matt Duchene (the Av of the Month for October) was out for a good part of the month.
If the Avs could get Duchene, MacKinnon and Rantanen going all at the same time, they could really start winning more games than losing… but it just isn’t happening right now.
